About us

Innovation rooted in purpose

At Tyréns, innovation is in our DNA. Our founder had an enquiring mind and a passion for making a difference, and these are key characteristics of our company to this day.

Our innovation programme Next is where we test employee-generated new ideas, launch new business and strengthen internal capabilities. Supported by our foundation, we run dedicated programmes for ventures, AI and research.

Innovation has always been part of Tyréns

Our founder combined technical expertise with curiosity and a strong commitment to improving society, values that continue to shape our business today.

As experts in a sector with significant impact on society, we believe we have both the opportunity and the responsibility to contribute to sustainable development. Our ownership structure through the Sven Tyréns Foundation allows us to invest in research, innovation and long-term development with a clear focus on knowledge, quality and societal value.

Through our innovation programme Next, we bring together ventures, AI development and research to create solutions that support a more sustainable and resilient society. By combining the expertise of our specialists with collaboration across academia, industry and the public sector, we turn ideas into practical solutions that can be tested, refined and scaled.

The result is new services, digital tools and improved ways of working that help address challenges such as climate adaptation, resource efficiency and digital transformation.

Next drives innovation across the Group

Next is Tyréns’ group-wide innovation hub, bringing together structured innovation, AI development and research. Its purpose is to identify needs, develop solutions and scale initiatives that can create measurable value for both society and the built environment sector.

Supported by the Sven Tyréns Foundation, we invest long term in innovation and research with the ambition of turning knowledge into practical impact. Our approach helps us prioritise initiatives with clear potential, test ideas early and scale the solutions that deliver results.

Innovation at Tyréns is developed in close collaboration between our specialists, clients, universities and other societal partners. This enables us to combine deep technical expertise with new technologies and research-driven insights.

Research and innovation with long-term impact

Research and development have been part of Tyréns since the company was founded. Through the Sven Tyréns Foundation, we have a unique opportunity to invest independently and long term in innovation that contributes to sustainable societal development.

We work closely with clients, partners, universities and national research councils to address some of the built environment sector’s most important sustainability challenges. Areas of focus include climate adaptation, resource efficiency, healthy living environments and digital solutions powered by AI.

Our ambition is not only to generate new knowledge, but also to ensure that ideas move beyond the concept stage and become practical solutions with real societal value.
